AirTanker have been contracted to deliver Voyager, a new strategic and tactical air transport and air-to-air refuelling capability to the RAF.  It’s not simply about procuring an effective and reliable aircraft but all aspects of an integrated support service including aircraft maintenance, crew training, relevant infrastructure, fleet management and ground services.

Primary Job Purpose

Performance of Aircraft Maintenance tasks in accordance with Company Quality and Regulatory airworthiness standards.  Working in conjunction with the Shift Manager, to ensure that the ATrS Fleet Engineering Department meets all the customer’s contractual requirements.  The supervision of engineering activities as directed by the Shift Manager at the Main Operating Base or any down route location.  The supervision and effective use of all allocated personnel and resourcesDeputise for the Shift Manager in his/her absence. To carry out duties as a Sponsored Reservist as and when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake scheduled and un-scheduled Aircraft Maintenance in accordance with the required regulatory and company requirements.
  • Undertake supervisory activities for teams of Aircraft Maintenance staff including all trade disciplines as directed by the Shift Manager.
  • Assisting the Shift Manager in monitoring the performance of staff under his control including, attendance, timekeeping, sickness etc.
  • ‘Flying Spanner ‘duties to support the Aircraft Worldwide.
  • Responsible to the Shift Manager for the receipt/dispatch and servicing of FSTA Aircraft. To include pre-flight checks; daily checks; weekly checks; scheduled maintenance; component changes; rectification and repair; mandatory inspection; role changes and aircraft re-fuelling within the scope of thetechnician’s company authorisation and in accordance with company procedures, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring that all technical staff working under his supervision to carry out their duties in a safe and proper manner and in accordance with the relevant documentation.
  • Assuming direct control of documentation of aircraft under his control and ensuring that all required certification entries are promptly and correctly recorded.
  • The control of any material or company equipment provided for the task and the cleanliness of his working area.
  • Post flight debrief of flight deck crews.
  • Be available at short notice to perform AOG recovery of aircraft from deployed operations.
  • To report all safety/ disciplinary matters to his Shift Manager.
  • Liaise and discuss technical issues and forthcoming scheduled inputs with Maintrol.
  • Co-ordinate the ground movement of aircraft assigned by the Shift Manager.
  • Liaise and discuss operational requirements with Operations Department (dispatch)
  • Ensure H&S requirements are met and adhered to by all employees and activities under their control.
  • Any other such duties as may be required from time to time, and as directed by the Line Manager.
  • Be personally responsible for engaging in all facets of the role in line with the requirements of the ATrS SMS, Quality and Environmental Management Systems to provide a safe and efficient outcome to all that is required of you.This Includes maintaining awareness of the company safety and quality policies and the hazard analyses applicable to your tasking.
  • Utilise the company GCIS Maintenance IT Support systems where applicable
  • Drive and/or operate all Company provided MTGSE in support of operational requirement in line with their authorisations.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience on large commercial
  • Experience on operational A330 aircraft.
  • Demonstrable Experience in a Supervisory Role
  • Experience as a Certifying Technician.
  • Unrestricted EASA Part 66 B2 Licence endorsed with A330 Type Rating with Trent 700 Engine
  • Hold or Held Airbus A330 Company Authorisation meeting experience requirements of 6 months in the past 24.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Must pass able to pass a CP2 Colour Vision Test.
  • Experience working in both a line/base maintenance environment.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working within an MOD environment.
  • Previous outstation / “flying spanner” experience.
  • LGV Licence

Due to the nature of the organisation, all employees of AirTanker Services are required to be security cleared to SC level. If successful in your application we would support you with the SC process.
